T-REX Flex Adhesive Sealant

T-Rex Flex is the most flexible adhesive and sealant for bonding, sealing and filling applications. Due to its high flexibility, it will absorb the movement of the materials onto which it is applied. T-Rex Flex is a single component sealant/adhesive based on SMX®-Polymer.

Features & Benefits
  • Highly flexible (up to 750% elongation): handles movement, expansion, and contraction without cracking.

  • Excellent adhesion: bonds well to a wide range of materials (even when slightly moist) — concrete, masonry, metal, timber, PVC, plastics, natural stone and more.

  • Strong mechanical characteristics: once cured, the sealant remains elastic, durable, and stable under stress.

  • Mould-resistant (contains ZnP biocide): suitable for sanitary and damp environments like bathrooms and kitchens.

  • Environmental & health-conscious formulation: free from solvents, isocyanates, halogens and acids, so minimal smell, more user-friendly.

  • Paintable: once cured, can be overpainted with water-based paints (a preliminary compatibility test is recommended).

  • Weather, UV and water resistant: suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Applications

Use T-Rex Flex for:

  • Sealing and bonding of construction joints, floor and wall joints, expansion joints, façades, and general building work. For rigid, high-strength applications, you can pair it with T-Rex SMX® Power Max Grab to handle heavy substrates or installations that need instant tack.

  • Bonding and sealing porous natural stone (e.g. marble), bricks, concrete, metals, treated timber, PVC, plastics, etc.

  • Sanitary sealing and bonding in kitchens, bathrooms, showers, and other moisture-prone areas.

  • Filling, sealing or bonding applications where materials may expand, contract, vibrate or move over time (e.g. external walls, building joints, mixed-material installations). Where structural movement is expected, consider pairing with T-Rex SMX® Floor & Wall Adhesive to keep large-format surfaces stable and prevent premature joint failure.

Instructions
  • Ensure surfaces are clean, dust- and grease-free, and either dry or slightly damp.

  • Apply with a standard caulking gun.

    • As an adhesive: apply in beads or dots, press the materials firmly together, and leave to set.

    • As a sealant: apply in a continuous bead and tool with a finishing solution or soapy water immediately.

  • Application temperature: +5 °C to +35 °C.

  • Curing: skin forms in ~10 minutes (at 23 °C / 50% RH); full strength develops over time (around 2–3 mm depth per 24 h).

  • Painting: once cured, it can be painted with water-based paints (test compatibility first).

Why Choose T-Rex Flex?

T-Rex Flex is the go-to choice when your sealing or bonding job needs strength and movement. Built with SMX® Hybrid Polymer, it delivers elastic performance and long-term durability in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Flexible Performance That Won’t Crack

Where standard sealants harden and fail, T-Rex Flex stays permanently elastic. It absorbs movement, vibration, expansion, and structural stress — ideal for façades, construction joints, cladding, and other high-movement applications.

Strong Adhesion on Mixed Materials

T-Rex Flex bonds securely to most building surfaces, including concrete, timber, metals, PVC, masonry, natural stone, and ceramics. It also adheres to slightly moist substrates, helping you get more done with less prep.

Durable in Harsh Environments

Engineered for real-world conditions, it withstands UV, weather, and temperature swings from –40 °C to +90 °C. Use it outdoors with confidence on window frames, expansion joints, gutters, and exterior fixtures.

Mould-Resistant for Wet Areas

With ZnP biocide, T-Rex Flex resists mould growth and performs reliably in high-humidity spaces such as bathrooms, kitchens, and laundries.

Paintable for a Clean Finish

Once cured, it can be painted with water-based paints, allowing a seamless, professional look. (Compatibility testing recommended.)
