Is an applicator gun the same as a caulking gun?
Yes. Both terms describe the same handheld tool used to dispense sealant, adhesive, or foam from a cartridge or sausage. Applicator gun is the trade term, particularly where the same gun also handles adhesive and foam cartridges.
What's the difference between a skeleton gun and a ratchet gun?
A skeleton gun is a lightweight, open-frame design for light or occasional use. A ratchet gun uses a reinforced pawl mechanism built for daily trade use and higher-viscosity products, generally with stronger output per trigger pull.
Do I need a special gun for expanding foam?
Yes. Foam canisters use a different valve and flow-control system to sealant and adhesive cartridges, so a dedicated foam gun is required rather than a standard skeleton or ratchet gun.
What is a sausage gun?
A sausage gun is designed to hold foil sausage packs rather than rigid cartridges. Sausage formats are common in high-volume trade supply and produce less packaging waste than cartridges.
Can one gun dispense both sealant and adhesive?
